Each year, during its annual Wiregrass Blues Fest, the Wiregrass Blues Society honors both living blues legends and influential musicians who have since passed that are from the Wiregrass area. Some of these artists have been steeped in the blues their whole career and others, who got their start in the blues, have gone on to excel in other genres. Since 2015, the Wiregrass Blues Society began creating mini-docs to celebrate the accomplishments and music of these artists with the help of grant money from the Alabama Humanities Foundation and the Alabama State Council on the Arts. These films are written, filmed, and produced by Dr. Jeneve Brooks, Asst. Professor of Sociology at Troy-Dothan, and edited by Nashville-based filmmaker, Cliff Vaughn.
